Player privacy is a core principle in the engineering of Ziplings — Merge & Unzip. This policy transparently outlines how data is handled when you play the game.

1. Offline-First Architecture & No Account Required

Ziplings is built on an offline-first gameplay model:

  • We do not require account creation, registration, or collection of personal identification (name, email, or phone number).
  • High scores (Best Score), run progress, audio settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device.

2. Advertisements & In-App Purchases (Third-Party SDKs)

While core gameplay executes offline, the app integrates third-party SDKs when an active internet connection is available:

  • Advertisements (Google AdMob): Ziplings may offer optional rewarded video ads for Charge top-ups or non-intrusive interstitial ads. When connected to the internet, the Google AdMob SDK may process device technical details and Advertising Identifiers (IDFA / GAID) for ad delivery, subject to Google's privacy policies.
  • In-App Purchases (Apple App Store / Google Play Store): Transactions for the "Remove Ads" entitlement are processed securely by Apple or Google billing systems. The app only records entitlement status locally to permanently disable ad placements.

3. Ad Content Rating & Child-Directed Treatment

  • Ad Content Rating: Ads served in the app are strictly restricted to a G Content Rating (General Audience).
  • Present Child-Directed Status: Currently, the app does not set child-directed treatment flags (COPPA / GDPR-K) and is not enrolled in store family programs. If production release configurations change, this policy will be updated accordingly.

4. Device Permissions

Ziplings requests minimal device permissions:

  • Network Access: Used for serving rewarded and interstitial ads, ad SDK initialization and privacy consent management (UMP), and verifying in-app purchase entitlements when online.
  • Haptic Vibrations: Provides gentle tactile feedback during merges and unzips (toggable in Settings).
